However her environmental career started informally as a willing volunteer to the various NGOs in Malaysia. This lead, to her initial work on peat swamps and specifically the ecology of algae in Malaysian peat swamps. Additionally she has been involved in the field of Sustainable Transportation in South Asia and Indigenous Rights. As a product of her formal and informal work, she realized that the research she was doing needed a more sociological bridge, hence her shift in orientation towards more sociological research. Her initial foray is her contribution to the analysis of the cultural context for adoptation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Denmark and China.
Research Interests: The Interplay between Values, Perception and Culture in relation to ideas of nature, Ethics, Traditional Local Knowledge, Constructed Wetlands, Peat & Mangrove Swamps.
