Other interests include the interactions between science and activism and knowledge creation by grassroots organisation in ecological distribution conflicts, the use and expansion of the concept of environmental justice in the South and the link between resource extraction and economic growth. Social and environmental impacts at the commodity frontiers are increasing as the quality and availability of resources decreases. Contesting successfully the imperative of endless economic growth can have direct and positive impacts in the lives of communities at these frontiers.
